Jaime Di Giovanna, MSW, LICSW
My name is Jaime Di Giovanna (she/her), and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Tacoma, Washington. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work from Seattle University. I take an approach deeply rooted in Humanistic Theory and radical acceptance. I see each of my patients as the expert of their own lives and take a collaborative approach. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. My counseling focuses on validating self worth, creating boundaries and a healthy sense of responsibility, and improving communication. I use a variety of modalities, including EMDR, and use DBT, CBT and ACT as fundamental components of my dialog.
I live and work in the Tacoma community with my dog and cat, and spend my free time visiting with family, unwinding from the day with music and a good book, spending time with my partner, and trying to figure out how to help the world feel a little bit kinder (it's a work in progress). I am in the process of earning my Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) through Tulane University.
Private therapy session availability is limited, and only available to residents of Washington State aged 16 and older. Please email for more information if you are interested in private therapy either in person or via Telehealth.
For in person therapy sessions, please be aware that my Great Pyrenees dog Gia is oftentimes present, and that the office is located on the second floor of a vintage building which does not have an elevator.
Gia
Gia is a Great Pyrenees of a dignified age. A born working dog, she takes her job as a support pet very seriously- even when she snoozes through sessions. Gia is sweet and mellow, and the only dog allowed in this office. She is in the office three days a week.
